Jim Booth


Jim Booth, founded Booth Financial Associates in 1992 as a financial services firm focused on the needs of individuals and small businesses, and a consulting firm specializing in administering retail and commercial sales programs for financial institutions. He is a life/health agent, full service insurance broker, and a registered representative and registered securities principal of INVEST Financial Corporation.

Mr. Booths career background covers 17 years in the banking industry and the last 19 years as head of Booth Financial. He started his career with Chase Manhattan as an operations officer, spent 6 years in the 1970s as a Director for the American Bankers Association, 6 years with Citicorp as Director of Tax Sheltered Products and ended his banking career with Irving Trust as Director of Financial Services before it was acquired by Bank of NY. In 1989 Jim joined Liberty Financial of Boston as a consultant to market third-party investment programs to banks in the Northeast.

It was then that Jim formed Booth Financial. From 1992-2001, Mr. Booth and his associates implemented, serviced and administered Bank Investment and Insurance Programs. In early 2003 Jim expanded his staff to include additional areas of expertise to serve the expanding needs of the company and its clients.

Jim resides in Norwalk with his wife. He has two sons working with him in the firm.

Jimmy Booth

Jimmy Booth is a financial associate of Booth Financial. He has been with the firm since graduating from college in 1997. He holds a securities registration as a general securities representative, he is an Investment Advisor Representative and Registered Representative of INVEST, and a registered securities principal of INVEST. In addition, he holds insurance licenses for coverage in life, health, disability, long term care, and property and casualty. Jimmy has obtained the professional designation of Registered Financial Consultant with the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants and Accredited Investment Fiduciary with Fi360 through education and examination. Jimmy also functions as a public notary in the state of Connecticut.

As an associate of Booth Financial, Jimmy's primary functions consist of servicing and managing the accounts of Booth Financial and also the sales needs of their licensed associates. Previously, he worked as a sales associate in a Booth Financial-operated, bank-sponsored investment and insurance program located in Suffolk County, NY.

Jimmy was born in Gaithersburg, MD and moved to Norwalk, CT in 1977 where he still resides. He holds a BS degree in Political Science from Southern Connecticut State University. As a Southern graduate he decided to give back to his alma mater by becoming involved with their alumni association as a volunteer. In keeping with giving back to the community where he resides, Jimmy became a member of the Norwalk Exchange Club, a non-profit civic organization. Jimmy remains an active parishioner at St. Matthew's Parish in Norwalk, CT, where he volunteers his time to help run and support religious retreats. He is an avid runner and volunteers during the summer months at local races run by the Lightfoot Running Club of Norwalk. As a runner, one of the main goals that Jimmy wishes to achieve in life is completing a marathon in every state inside the United States. Thus far he has completed twenty-seven marathons.

Diana Booth

Diana is responsible for assisting with the licensing of all representatives and insurance agents. She is also responsible for maintenance of office procedures to help ensure compliance with industry standards. She administers the logistics of outreach programs such as seminars, client functions and internal sales support meetings. In addition, she helps maintain insurance files and support the processing of insurance by interfacing with paramedics and life companies in delivering requirements on an insurance application.

Diana holds a Bachelors Degree from Queens College in Education and was a teacher prior to joining Booth Financial. Diana is an associated person of INVEST Financial Corporation

David Booth

David Booth is involved in almost every aspect of helping to make the office run efficiently and compliant. He is also a member of its investment committee, overseeing the daily activities of its managed account portfolios. Prior to joining the family business in 2001, David studied finance at Northeastern University. David holds the series 7 & 63 securities registrations and licenses in Life & Health Insurance. He is a registered representative of INVEST Financial Corporation.

David and his family are Norwalk residents. He is an avid skier, mountainbiker and triathelete.

Kim Paulk

Kim joined Booth Financial in 2003. Her responsibilities with the firm run the gamut from receptionist to secretary office manager. Her experience has allowed her to answer the vast volume of calls that come in everyday, handle all correspondence, including processing all account forms and troubleshooting with our broker dealer. She is an associated person of INVEST Financial Corporation, our broker/dealer. Kims skills were honed here at Booth Financial and with her former employer, The Stamford Capital Group.

Stephen Bentkover

Stephen Bentkover is the Director of Personal Insurance Products for Booth Financial; which includes Life, Disability and Long Term Care Insurance. He has been with the company for three years. He entered the financial service field in 1991 after having had successful careers in both the Retail management and Publishing industries. He trained through the Life Underwriters program and has taken advanced estate planning courses from the American College. Stephen specializes in Insurance and Benefit planning for Businesses, Individual Insurance planning, and Estate and Retirement strategies. He is a registered representative of INVEST Financial Corporation.

Stephen is a native New Yorker and has lived in Fairfield County since 1983. He holds a Bachelors degree in Music Theory from The Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University in Chicago. As an active member of his community, Stephen is a founding member of Norwalks Reading Is Fundamental partner, “Norwalk Reads”, and serves on its board. He is Vice Chairman of the Norwalk Parking Authority, mentors a middle school child, and serves on the scholarship committee for the Norwalk Housing Authority. He is a past president of the Norwalk Kiwanis club and has worked to raise money for scholarships for deserving High School students.

Robert Cripps

Bob Cripps is a Senior Financial Representative for Booth Financial Associates and a registered representative of INVEST Financial Corporation. Bob brings 23 years of industry experience in financial services. . He has provided financial advice to a myriad of investors who appreciate a conservative point of view, specializing in retirement planning and long-term savings programs. Before joining Booth Financial, Bob was a financial advisor with several major banking institutions. Throughout his career Bob honed his skills in risk management practices by studying with industry authorities. Earlier in his career Bob was a special agent with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Bob is a native New Yorker and currently lives in White Plains, New York. He holds a Bachelors degree in English with a minor in Economics from Fordham University. Bob worked with Westchester-Putman Special Olympics for several years, including serving on the board of directors.

Charles Wild

Charles believes that there is no “silver bullet” when it comes to investing and planning.  Progress is made by evaluating the current situation, analyzing available resources, setting an achievable course and monitoring progress regularly. Adjustments are made along the way to stay on track as markets move and life happens.  With financial planning being as much art as it is science, Charles recognizes that the best plan is the one that a client can stick to and feel good about.

Charles started in the brokerage business in 1999, became and advisor in 2001, attained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation in 2009 and joined Booth Financial Associates in 2010. He holds Series 7, 63, 65 securities registrations and  Life, Health & Variable Insurance license.

Charles is an avid automobile and motorcycle enthusiast.  He judges at numerous Concours d'Elegance car shows around the Tri-State area.  He is also a board member of the Candreva Environmental Foundation and the president of the Walkabout Alumni Association.

Charles Yost

Charlies mission is to provide his clients with a vast array of resources to help them develop strategies for his clients to help build wealth, reduce taxes, and protect the people who depend on them for support. Charlie serves his clients with financial planning, business, estate and retirement planning. Through these processes he offers both insurance and investment products.

Charlie began his career in the field of corporate purchasing for a Fortune 500 company. After several years in purchasing and manufacturing, he spent the balance of his career in various sales and marketing positions within the U.S., as well as traveling to several international markets for the relocation industry. He has an abundance of experience in servicing the person to person relationship, as well as business to business sales.

In his spare time, Charlie currently volunteers on the City of Norwalk Historical Commission. He enjoys participation in local community activities and his hobby of, pastel landscape painting. In past years, he was co-founding Chairman of Norwalk Communities In Schools and a variety of positions for the City of Norwalk boards and commissions. Charlie is a past member of the Connecticut Pastel Society, East Norwalk Business Association, East Norwalk Improvement Association and the Greater Norwalk Master Builders Association.

Charlie resides with his wife Rosemary, in Norwalk, Connecticut, where they, and their two children, were born and raised. A product of Norwalk school system, Charlie obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Business Administration from the Sacred Heart University.

He holds the following securities registrations: Series 7 General Securities Representative, Series 6 Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Representative; Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law; and Series 65 Uniform Investment Advisor Law. He holds insurance licenses in NY and CT: License for Life, Accident and Health. Charles is a Registered Representative of INVEST. 

Frank Trentacosta

Following his graduation from St. Johns University, Frank entered the insurance business. His experience has been assisting professionals and small, closely-held businesses.

Franks main area of expertise is in employee benefits. As a broker manager for several insurance agencies, he has worked with firms to develop and implement benefit plans both on a group basis, as well as for key employees. As Frank has worked with the major insurance carriers in the health, life and disability field, he can help to determine the right fit for your particular needs.

In addition to his employee benefit background, Frank is a registered representative with INVEST Financial Corporation and is a Certified Life Underwriter and a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals

Frank lives in the Fordham section of the Bronx, NY with his wife Jean. Together they are active in their local community working with organizations such as The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

Joel Hamlin

Joel has over 27 years of insurance experience. Prior to founding his own agency in 1988, Joel was a financial planner. He is also a Registered Representative of INVEST Financial Corporation.

Joel has a BS in Math and Science and an M. Ed. in Educational Research Technology from Northeastern University. He lives in Marblehead, MA, with his wife Nancy.


Julie Lamere

Julie LaMere LUTCF has been a member of the Booth Financial team since in 1993. Having come from The New England Financial Group where she sold a full range of insurance products in addition to mutual funds, annuities, retirement and employee benefit plans, she brings a strong background in the industry. Julie continues to advance her education by working on her professional designations. She is also a recipient of the National Quality Award. Julie specializes in personal lines products, investments and group health insurance. Julie is a Registered Representative of INVEST.

In addition Julie opened an office of the John M Glover Agency in May 2015 offering a full line of Property & Casualty Insurance products making the agency truly full service. She has maintained her P&C license since 1997. Julie makes her home in the heart of the Adirondack mountains living in Tupper Lake, NY with her office in Saranac Lake, NY.
